WHAT HAPPENS IN A TYPICAL GOAT YOGA CLASS?

At goat yoga you will be in a grassy outdoor area with the other participants and the small goats. You will have time to feed and play with the goats before the yoga class starts.  The yoga session will last about 1  hour and will be appropriate for all levels, from beginners who have never done yoga before to more advanced yogis. During the yoga, the goats will be moving around freely and may even jump up on top of you! After class there will be some more time for pictures and hanging with the goats.

HOW DO I GET THERE?

Rockford Goat Yoga  is located at Essential Farms, off scenic Route 2 along the Rock River. The  address is 5347 S. Main,  Rockford, IL 61102.

DO YOU PROVIDE YOGA MATS?

We have some yoga mats that we will rent for $5, but we recommend bringing your own mat if you have one. We will provide towels to place on top of your mat, free of charge, to protect from any mess the goats might leave behind!

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

If it rains we will have the goat yoga class indoors, in a barn.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO GOAT YOGA?

You may wear whatever you want to goat yoga. You may wish to wear athletic clothing that will allow you to move freely during the yoga session. However, some people choose to wear costumes, swimwear, PJ's, jeans and flannels.... Just keep in mind that goats may be jumping on your back and you will be in a grassy outdoor area.

ARE THERE BATHROOMS?

Yes, there are bathrooms.

CAN WE JUST COME TO PET THE GOATS OR TO TAKE PICTURES? I DON'T REALLY DO YOGA.

Goat yoga is a very fun and casual experience. You are welcome to just play with the goats, sit, take pictures, or meditate,  but you will still need to sign up for a class and pay for a ticket.

WHAT ABOUT BUGS?

The goat yoga area has been treated with natural pest control to mitigate bugs, but feel free to bring your own spray as well. We also have on hand, natural repellent made in house with essential oils.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?

We recommend bringing a mat, water, a camera, and an open heart!
